Mick C. 229
Would a harris hawk be capable enough to clear gulls from a school playing field. Anyone had practical experience of a similar situation. Cheers Quote Link to post
CrowHawker 227
Yes as long as you have the relevant licence mate my female takes them easy but a falcon would be better suited Edited December 17, 2013 by CrowHawker Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
I one seen a fellow who had his own business trying to clear gull's from a onshore gas/oil terminal where work had to be done on some sphere's ...all's that would happen is the gull's would mob the harris which had very very little chance of catching them..he even lost a harris in the sea that was getting mobbed from herring gull's.. Moorman 1 1,412
Yes Mick we used to use my female Harris on gulls when clearing the landfill sites. As has been stated they will mob a Harris but when mine would catch one I used to leave her out and let her feed on it they soon realised that she was a real threat and would clear from the area.Used in conjunction with the longwings and other methods they can become a successful part of the team.
