Crap Trainers Or Perfectionists .......

We all know people who go through dogs like baw and the brick go through user names ... There are plenty of them on here ... So is it down to their lack of abilities as a trainer that they can't get the best out of a dog or is it that their standards are very high and if a dog doesn't make the grade then it doesn't stay ??? ... I don't know whether I am a half decent trainer or I have very low standards lol but I have been fortunate over the years that I haven't had to move dogs on apart from injuries that stopped them working .........

I'd say you train and enter your dogs properley but I remember a long time ago when your black bitch started yapping when chasing roe I think so I guess in the end its down to the do I've seen dogs not well trained or even well fed or exercised make very good dogs and I've put time into dogs and they was useless all comes down to the dog
Lol my black bitch has never yapped on roe .. And the same fella that made that claim also said I had taken the dog to the vets and had her voice box removed  ..........
oh just I haven't got bad memory and could of swore you came on here when the bitch was young asking advice on what to do not 100 percent what she was chasing but am 100 percent you posted she opened up , and this isn't what iv heard I read it when you posted it and even commented on it back in 2007 or 08 you posted she was yapping
I have never asked advice on any of my dogs yapping ..... And she was a youngster in 2005 ........

But it's not just about obedience, but also ability. A man can only do so much, in the end the dog has to do his part too. And some don't make the grade, pure and simple. You can train them to do any

In my opinion,...it is all down to what quarry you are after...     These debates could go on and on,.ad-infinitum,...and it is surely possible within such a unique hunting man's website, to sepera

I wonder how it would work the other way around i.e if the dogs got to decide if the owners "made the grade", im sure one of mine would have me in the yellow paper next week! Lol

Well the topic seems to be heading down the wrong dog for the job not training of the dog as first posted, well wrong dog for the job is down..imo of lads rushing in when they first want a Lurcher they listen to there mates talking and they want to get in the click so they get a dog. We are all familiar of a fool and his Mony are soon parted and some dog dealers will soon have them over. So in turn the dog gets past on from pillar to post with no one ever giving the dog a fair crack to show its self wearth keeping,

Yes back in the day when you could run biger game and teeth some dogs that were breed to take them never did so the dog got past on, and its the same in reverse how many failed hare dogs turned into real good deer and lamping dogs. The Lurcher game is the best game in the world as every day or night out is difrent and long may it continue....atvb

I am a rubbish trainer put my hands up to that. But when I was younger I had some great working dogs that I was proud of and could hold there own in any company. The dogs had a natural gift and I gave them shed loads of work and time. They all came when called and i could walk them lose through field of lambs with out a care but as far as training went that was the extent of it.

I intend to have another dog at some point and plan to get it to the working quality I had back then and properly trained as far as obedience goes. As you get older you realise you can achieve any thing if you put your mind to it

All dogs will have a bad day or two, maybe be unsighted or ill or over worked etc, an experienced dog man will no this from experience gained from persisting with dogs , inexperienced will get shut of dog, experience doesn't come from being in the game for years on end it comes from learning of your dogs an quarry

of course experience comes from being in the game for years as in all walks of life but that doesn't mean you have knowledge
which is what I said
