Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Ayup lads! Usual story when I work nights.. get home not tired so a mooch is in order! Needed to go shooting as I hadn't been since Thursday night when I got that pigeon with the 98 due to been a pussy and feeling sh1t and run-down with a bit of man flu. On the walk home there was a lovely chill to the air with a very slight breeze blowing and only the second frost I have seen so far this 'Winter' not wasting much time I was changed into my hunting gear and the rifle was ready in the bag and a few bits and bats in my pockets and off I goes! A lovely mooch on a sunny morning resulted in a trio of kills for the - amazing - rifle of choice Number one was a squirrel clinging onto a tree trunk, was oblivious to me being stood 22-23 yards away so I gave a click to make it stay still as I lined up the standing unsupported shot. after flicking the auto aim switch to the 'on' position I let the pellet fly and after being smashed in't side of the noggin nutkins started his diving performance. 10's across the board with the effort on the backflip Next up was a nice woody sunning itself in the top of a tree, not too bothered about me being there I stalked closer to get a rested shot on a tree trunk. but disaster struck as the pellet took a deflection from a branch and did not hit its intended target- the head, but smashed into the side of the bird It dropped vertical for about 10 feet and then took flight, getting 15 yards before it came crashing to the ground. by the time I got there into the undergrowth it was on its final breath and the pellet had done quite some damage. good job it was the .22 ! So it does happen to the best of us but not letting it spoil my day I continued my mooch Another squirrel was the next victim a clear shot, I made sure there was no twangy branches in the way this time standing unsupported at 29 yards with a great shot he/she just fell straight down and was not getting back up.!! A lovely morning watching great tits about 3 yards away and heard my mate mr owl giving me a good morning call aswell just a shame it wasn't 2 woodys in the bag, one got away.. minus a few head feathers Bradford is indeed a sh1t hole but there is still some beautiful sights to be seen if you know where to look Anyways I've rambled on for far too long... 1 Shot SKoT Edited December 17, 2013 by Skot Ruthless Teale 3 Quote Link to post
