Huan72 687
Sorry for yet another boot thread but.................I currently buy £40 boots that do the job and keep me dry so all good but am thinking of getting Lowa Combat GTX. The thing is I cover a lot of miles and am heavy on my soles and wear them out every time within six months. I have a choice between carrying on getting the cheaper boots every 6 months or getting the Lowas and replacing the soles when needed. Is the difference in quality worth the initial outlay if I am wearing the soles out so quickly :hmm:Never had Lowas and also if there are any lowa experts in the room, do you know what the difference is between the Lowa combats and the Lowa hunters :hmm:I notice the hunters are crampon compatible, are the combats? Many thanks for reading this and sorry for annoying you with yet another boot thread Quote Link to post

Huan72 687
That's testimony enough, thanks for that. I have read the threads and all seem to rate Lowas, so I think I'll bite the bullet and get a pair. People seem to agree that they are on the heavy side but that hopefully translates into toughness and build quality I am one of those strange types, I actually enjoy conditioning and polishing my boots, it helps to build the relationship , Quote Link to post
