FUJI 17,327
dont wanna hijack but fuji hows don coping ? Hes not so bad mate..he has lost a bit of his confidence especially at jumping, he don't really mess about at fences, gates etc but he just isn't as bravado and as bold as he was, im sure it will all come good the more he's out and about..just being hunting him through the day, hes been putting a few odds and sods horizontal so he's not quite redundant yet lol..I won't be lamping him again this season well not on any big numbers..just gonna let him tag along on my daytime mooches for now, he would go hunting 24/7 if he could lol thats just him but for now im keeping him under wraps..he still has swelling etc to his eye socket and is on antibiotics but we have other mutts here so the show goes on matey.. 3 Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,327
I never Ken..when I split from my partner where they were homed and having 6 mutts at my own home I just couldn't keep them all, I culled 2 Patts & a lurcher called Sox that was handy but injury prone plus my kennel set up here only allowed for two males ..obviously I wanted to keep my Don dog the cur x and I was left having to rehome one of the pups..I advertised them Ken and I had an inbox full of replies with every one wanting the Fife dog..to be honest he would probably of been better for what I do as im sure he would make a handy lamp dog, he was a serious good hunter in and amongst cover, woodland etc and was real pacey..I let him go and just kept Boots..hes doing very well mate, steady as a rock, obedient, retrieves, flattens big critters and he knows where to hold them lol..he may surprise me and make a top rabbit dog? I ain't that fussed to be fair, I would of loved to keep them both but alas I just couldn't. .even loaning him out wasn't really viable as I would still of had to get rid of one of my others...I like Don so he wouldn't go, also Swift is a pretty handy tool and my lad Dean has his bitch Fenn and she too is turning out more than useful on any quarry..thats life I guess buddy? Boots won't be going anywhere now..my second youngest son who is just 16 has taken a real shine to him so if he turns out shite it will still be here with the other turds lol.. 4 Quote Link to post
