Dog For Hunting Foxes

G'day just wondering which breed of dog is most suitable for hunting foxes, I want a dog that will flush them out of there dens, also I'm from Australia so there are no seasons or rules or regulations on hunting foxes.

It sounds like your after something half heated that will go in for a bit and mix then come out. I'd say there are such dogs in any breed of terrier( in different proportions) just be prepared to dig from time to time.

Parson jack Russell terriers they were bred to bolt foxes.

Go for the smallest working ones, make sure you've seen there parents work, good luck.

There is a multitude of terrier breeds and types that have and do hunt foxy boy,source working parents and go from there,black,white,red and blue,stay away from the chocolates,they are best saved for crimbo hunting.

There is another Ozzie lad who used to post on here. He had a cracking little bolting bitch. From what he wrote I seem to remember that she would only do 10-15mins below ground then come away. Apparently he could kill double figures each day easy enough. Not everybody's idea of a good terrier, but it seemed to work well for him...
