down here no one would look at you for jogging a dog next to a horse,neither would they look at you for walking along the roadside with a rabbit and a lurcher in your hands,

most farmers are happy to see you catching as they word it fury animals on there land,

 

but then theres not lots of gentleman farmers there farmers who have been passed land down through generations,

lurcher owners main problem is syndicates they push the bad press about lurchers and there owners from what ive experienced,

 

i really cant understand the mentality of the land owners over on the east coast they must of been persicuted over the yrs by lurcher lads,but wouldnt it be better to give a few permission to run there dogs surely they would police it and keep the drivers and the small number of silly lurcher owners of the land?

hahaahah id get stared out of it if i was carrying a rabbit up the road!!! ive been stopped so many times by gaurds gettin called saying im lamping on privet property that they know my name!!! funny thing is i always have permission.. just ould ones as ive said have nottin better to do

Years ago I could walk back to the Village on the road carrying a Hare dog walking beside me, cars going by giving me a toot on the horn, and a wave.

I lost a good bit of ground this Season, was ideal for the lamp, held a few, but a shooting syndicate came on paying the farmer they were also Lamping Foxes with rifles, and didn't want anyone lamping, so that was it, was told I could ferrett on June, July, August, but I reclined.

To many people judging us who walk the land by day cos of a few bad eggs,people who shoot are quick to slag off lurcher work so as to take pressure off them self, be fair there are a few rouges with hare dogs but there are twice as many on a pheasant shoot.if keepers shout loud enough about hare coursing gangs then it can take eyes of there own schemes that are in play. Joe public loves to hear about the big criminals gambling wads of cash on wicked hare coursing,but [BANNED TEXT] can any of us say we have been on a match for said tens of thousands,.!!! i live in a backwater that time forgot, i have permission to use the lurchers, ferret, shoot or anything else within reason on 75% of the land around here the other 25% i just go on anyway but there are no syndicates here and i have convinced most of the landowners that its good to see hares and pheasants about the place

Six men, one dog and a large amount of cash sounds like a sale with a trial to me. As someone already mentioned if you have had a dog stolen it might be worth looking into.
