:oops: Ok this IS really silly I expect.

 

I was looking at a picture of an American Mink in a magazine this evening and thought that it was a ferret. How can you tell the difference between a brown ferret and a mink.

 

Also biologically what are the differences- can they interbreed- are they different species????????

 

 

I know that they are aquatic and have slightly shorter looking bodies, but how different are they?

the american mink or as its known in america THE FISHER cannot breed with a ferret the chromosone balance is to wide .... the only factual evedince of mustelid breeding is between the european polecat and the ferret whose chromosone balance is the same ..............
