tomshep 41
Hello I,m after some advice please I have a young whippet that is a great little dog when out with the ferrets but he has started to hunt up on the lamp is this my fault for using him with the ferrets to much or is it just my lack of training! To be fair to the dog he does me a good job in the days so not to worried about the lamp work and I know there is no quick fix but would be very great full for any advice. Thank you for your time in reading this as it,s only my 2nd post. Tom Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
The only method i've known to work is constant success. Make sure you are in the best speck, with a fit as a fiddle dog and give it the best of chances with every run. It runs, it catches, it comes back, give it enough of this and it'll soon 'click' that the best way is your way and not it's own... Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
It's hard work but what I done was no more day time work Untill you get him working the lamp 100% then ones he is lamping start with the day time mooching and lamping Quote Link to post

s.e.s.k.u 1,893
when he hunts up do you follow him with the lamp?...I always switch lamp off catch or no catch....they soon learn that they only get a run when there by your side and running the beam... keep at it and good luck atb sesku Quote Link to post
