Technical Question

Recommended Posts

Hi folks.

I'm trying to persuade a lad i know to part with a very neglected HW77 with a 25mm piston.

It needs a total strip, reblue etc etc.........

What I'm thinking though is would the 25mm piston etc produce less recoil than the updated 26 mm gubbings?

I read somewhere that this is the case but was wondering if anyone can help me with this?

Cheers folks

hi

they do shoot with less recoil and alot sweeter to as there is less volume, so you dont need such a strong spring to get them in the 11-11.5 ft/lb power range, lock time is also reduced, this is why you hear alot of people short stroking there spring rifles because they shoot that much sweeter!

the reason hw introduced the 26mm piston was there was a demand for higher power (FAC) and the 25mm pistons dident have the swept volume to output higher levels of power.

hope that made some sence sounded ok in my head.

Thanks for the offer.

No probs.

It makes a difference to accuracy once their tuned and breaking nicely with a light pull.

It will have to wait till the new year though as I'm going to be very busy with my other half and our boys over the next while.

We can hook up and I'll take my Springers along for a comparison.
