jultaylor1972 2
A friend of mine has a springer whose tail is disintegrating. She has had her at the vets several times and each time they've taken a bit of her tail off. Now she's at the point where they have taken as much off as they can and if it doesn't heal or becomes infected the dog will have to be PTS. I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice to aid healing and prevent infection? Thanks. Quote Link to post

Westy76 546
I'd see another vet!!!! Quote Link to post
paulus 26
maybe bone cancer rather than an infection, but the vet should really have the dog on long term antibiotics until the risk of reinfection is over Quote Link to post

jmj121 30
Hibiscrub, is anti bacterial and anti fungal, great stuff and i also use it for cuts ect on horses and my dogs. I hear the NHS has started using it, so it must be doing some good. First thing i would do is see another vet for a second opinion. 1 Quote Link to post
