Popular Post budharley 945
My young son tig has been showing signs of late that he has taken after me and my dad and has got the hunting blood . tig has had a tough four years of life through illness , I have noticed that he enjoys being outside, loves playing with the chickens and the animals and is always at my side at the ferret hutch. My brother and sister and my eldest lad have no interest whatsoever in hunting or the outdoors its just been me and my dad up until now . Last week my dad gave me a call to say he had watched two squirrels making there way down a hedge side at last light to a dray in a kestrel box he put up last year on his land , hell let me know when hes got them (he often rings me with stuff like that haha) . I decided I was going to go for a mooch with the gun and was getting ready when tig realised I was going and signed if he could come, I took his oder brother who is 11 the week before and he moaned after we had walked 100 metres then for the rest of the hour we was out so realy wanted just a bit of peace just me and the gun (you know how it is ). I decided in the end to let him come so we headed round to my dads for the gun and cartridges when we got there tig refused to get out so I got my mum to watch him as I fetched the gun when I got back he was crying saying deee deee deee (that's daddy he misses out the dad) , said whats up with him my mum said I told him he could stay here and he just started ( he never rufuses to go my mums) I said well ive told him where going shooting, she just laughed and said this brings back bloody memories . After speaking to my dad on the phone he said he hasn't shot them yet,we arrived at the farm knowing we might have a chance of a squirrel I decided we would just wait and see what happens maybe walk 1 field or two but not my usual mooching safety first and his little legs get tired easy . Tig decided we was going to walk first so we did one circle of the field and my dad arrived , we went up to the yard to speak to him hopefully a pigeon or two might fly over but it wasn't to be and we decided to see if the squirrels would show , my dad walked off to feed the animals the I caught a glimpse of a squirrel running the trees showed it to tig as it made its way towards us as it passed I dropped it to a cheer lol . my dad came round the corner took the gun and we made are way over to get it . tig was over the moon and so was I to see his face tig has down syndrome you see he doesn't talk much but communicates by signs but I could tell as he walked back to my dad squirrel in hand smile on his face he was a happy chap We was talking away when my dad said heres the other, a shot later and tigs on his way back with another in his hand the little guy was over the moon I never thought he would take after me and my dad but you can tell the outdoors is going to be his thing . when we got home he was excited to tell his mum what happened in his usual way a load of mumbo jumbo followed by a dee a deee bang bang . I came home from work on Thursday to find him sat in the front room in a realtree jacket his mum had got him to surprise me if its in you blood lads its in your blood no matter what to see him happy like that makes all the hard work worth while , I will post are next adventure soon Edited December 23, 2013 by budharley
