Moles Next Door To My Permission

Recommended Posts

I've been for a walk round one of my permissions this morning and noticed moles had been to work doing some serious damage, I've got a friend who's going to assist me, but where do you stand if the land owner next door doesn't control his ?

I believe land is owned by council so I'm going to contact them Monday.

Picture attached is land next to my permission must be over 600 holes.

Landowners are not obliged to control moles, it's up to them.

They are however, obliged by law to minimise risks from trips and falls on their land, and some local authorities and parish councils do control moles in parks and on playing fields.

Thanks for quick response, it's a football field and park so hopefully they will control them.

Chances are you will get the big heave ho, on yer bike jack!!

If it's a local authority owned ground the councils response is likley to be "we don't control moles" however "we sub contract the work out" who later down the line, you find out the sub contracting firm don't do moles neither!!!

I do lots of work on local authority owned property but it's only the associations. Local club or parks comitees etc that use these grounds who actually pay me.

I hope you get a better response.

Hopefully mate, but by the sound of it I've got more chance of my hair growing back lol.

Can't understand them not wanting to sort it though, it's a new park and looks a right bloody mess.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Some places are a nightmare. You just have to be koy as to what you put in the ground. And more important, when you do it.

Reply from council....

I have discussed this issue with the chairman of the parish council and have

been advised that the council are fully aware of the problem which are a

natural phenomenon in rural parks, gardens, golf courses and the like. Our

grounds maintenance team work constantly to keep them levelled and will within

the next few days be working to level this current activity from the moles.
