picked my new tikka t3 hunter up yesterday too, fitted with mtc viper 6-24x56ir will be used for fox and deer no dsc or mentor needed

want bullets are [bANNED TEXT] useing cheers sounder

 

federal 85grns still zeroing at the moment

i can shoot hare with a shotgun and not a rifle why is this????????cheers sounder

shooting with a shootgun is close range and gives the hare a greater chance to escape, any would be able to hit one with a rifle thus if it was legal the hare population would rapidly decline.

You may have corrected it by now, but in that photo you have the sling fitted back-to-front. Unless you carry the rifle barrel down, which isn't wise. It looks like a cracking set-up though!

Lads -WATCH OUT FOR THE FOREND STUD PULLING LOOSE ON THOSE TIKKA'S.ESPECIALLY WITH THE BI-POD FITTED .

Too right , I had the same problem. I would check to see it it has been fitted with a nut on the inside of the stock , if not it will eventually come loose. Me and Foxdropper both had this problem , with Foxdropper having a scope smashed as a result !!!

 

I would definitely check and get it sorted asap ............

my licence came yesterday for new gun so collected it right away and put it all together last night.went and set it today.it is a .243 tikka t3 lite,s/b 3x12x50 scope,t8 mod,tikka mounts.harris pod.went for a walk this evening shot a hare at 120 yrds and a fox at 140yrds,a lovely gun.i am useing federal 100gr

power.shok ammo.

Hi mate.

 

Any gun shop should stock them , I paid £4.50 for mine. You will have to countersink the inside of your stock to fix the nut. I looked at a couple in the shop and they had been done , I wonder if they are now onto the problem

No good mate , it will just work loose again with the force of opening and closing the bipod all the time. Better be safe than sorry and do the job right at the beginning .

Yep ........I had to repair my mates T3 when his stud fell out ........The synthetic stock is'nt the best I have to say .

now i hope you know your not allowed to shoot hares with a rifle, you could loose your fac if caught by the gardi.

 

Why?

 

Under the wildlife act, your only permitted to use a shot gun to shoot hares.

The season for hares, in southern Ireland is, from the 26th of september to the 28th of febuary.
