On a .223 there is no need to go mad, and Yes, you can get all the parts you need to convert any Predator to any other version/thread of Predator.

These are COMPACTS, on my .223, .243, and .308, they do for me!

Edit,

Top right is a tube from longer P8 that I converted to Compact.

It isn't all about the money, and it's all down to you, but personally I would not consider a P12 on my .223.

The P12 is a monster, the normal P8 is bad enough (that's why I converted mine to Compact). The difference in sound moderation will be negligible, the difference in weight hanging off the end of your rifle will be noticeable.

Best advice will be a quick chat with UK Custom Shop!

Been to the gun shop - Predator 8 compact being fitted. £250 for mod, but extra £10/£20 for fitting

Thanks

Ok, we all know shops can charge what they like but I make the list price of this Mod £220, so why are they charging you £250? When I said they cost what you can get them for that usually means some sort of a deal, not giving them £30 extra!

Fitting should simply involve reaming out the Derlin bush, but ok £10-20 for that.

Thought it was a bit much, the only thing is the gun shop is only a 4 minute drive from home, only one around here, unless I travel 60+ miles.

I don't like the man at the gun shop but that's life

Thanks

You have a point, and there are times you have to bite your lip, but that situation still sucks!

Just got my gun back, took longer than expected, cost a total of £225 fitted - but turns out he's only gone and put a wildcat evolution on it, instead of the p8 compact we agreed on.

Bloody typical.

Well, that's out of order if you ordered one part and he fitted a different one.

I know very little about the Evolution except its meant to be a bit smaller and lighter and designed for up to medium action rifles. No idea about sound reduction figures but seems a little cheaper.

Are you going to run with it or get a Compact?, can you post up pics/review if you keep it, as I say I don't really know anything about these.

ATB!

I'm annoyed by it, the fact that we agreed on one, and he fitted another. I'll just show my annoyance by not going back there.

It doesn't really make a difference, only it's longer, has 10 baffles and is probably slightly heavier than p8 compact.

I don't want to make a fuss, but I am annoyed. It looks huge, but I'll put up with it because both have the same functionality, weight is irrelevant because I'll never take a free standing shot.
