Irish/english Bred Saluki Lurcher Vs Arab Bred Dog Whats The Better Dog?

Recommended Posts

1000 metres on a track cannot be compared to a 1000 metres out on the land or on sand or shale and certainly it was not done trying to course quarry you are making ridiculous comparisons you made one of man running a 4 minuter mile and asked how far a dog could run in 4 minutes a marathon runner can run 26 miles in 2and a quater hours a husky 2would run it but not a coursing dog.. its horses for courses as far as I see, 1.3 miles out on plough or seed always assuming you could find land of that size without obstructions and a hound behind a long ear would be some course you see a few 4/5/6 minute courses but very few and far between and they are certainly not at a flat out pace.

if there is a will there is a way. The arguments which are better Coo,s or uk and x breds is irrelevant people should utalise and try to improve on what they have. The impression that Coos are slower

i gues the salukis do the same as wolves by running their prey into the ground then making a kill where a greyhound uses its sheer speed ?

Depending on the quarry a saluki will go for the long game if required but there are plenty about that will nail them on tight circles

I prefer to run my saluki on bigger land, its more to their advantage , however they can and will work well on smaller land, consistency my major issue, not the dogs problem more my own problem, as someone else said earlier in the week, the limits are mainly on one end of the slip :cray:

pures and lurchers should not be compared , enjoy em for what they are  starting to compare them is fools gold, ones a saluki bred for one place and another is a saluki bred for another place, all are just dogs at the end of the day
