Nice set up that oakey, any chance of a few more pics of the press and some rough dimensions! I am going to build my own this year ready for next season.

ok see what i can do over xmas . The press as it is will press 10/12 gallons a cheese the cheese is 14x14x4 inches x5 . The top of the press swings over and i start it off with a small scissor jack then on to a 5 ton bottle jack then a 20 ton bottle jack (although may cut out the 20 next year as it wasnt really worth it , it depends how many apples we get) the thing i will be looking at for next year is a new scratter as this was the hold up even though both my mrs and my mates mrs did a good job it needs one with a wooden roller and stainless steel screws not a disc and a blade as it is now .

Cheers oakey, no rush be too busy eating and drinking too much till after new year anyway! By scratter do you mean for pulping the apples? See you use a shredder, is it too small to keep up with the press? What are you thinking for an alternative?
