Giro 2,648
My pal had a 3/4 grey 1/4 sal grey.. It was bred out of wolf.. Never made a proper fen dog.. Lad was told, it had no wind.. My pal got him going on the lamp and daytime local.. Caught daytime hares up here, hard to find daytime runnable hares in numbers but could take double figures solo at night. Was decent all rounder rabbits, hares, deer and fox.. I wanted to put him over my old collie type bitch but is was not meant to be.. Quote Link to post
fatlad 250
I run with my mates bitch out of trooper and grace for a good few years she ran day and night on some really rough ground aswell as the fens ran very cleaver down the road daytime but knew the difference on the lamp very up and attem got some real good hauls up the dales she worked well with ferrets and was trained to the whistle and hand signals so I would say they can be more than one trick ponies 2 Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
Its not the dogs that cant do it.. Its there owners that cant most just after point and slip types Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
Seen a couple of dogs that are greyhound/saluki hybrids but have thrown more to they greyhound side of things make good lampers for anything you care to bump into on a night. Think that bit of saluki goes a long way. Quote Link to post

GIBB0 50
for me its not ideal to have one dog per quarry I couldn't put enough gear in front of them to make it worth while. a saluki x that can turn his hand to anything is in my opinion one of the best crosses to have... 1 Quote Link to post
