Matt 160
Bud, I can't really add much to what Main Man has written, except that to suggest the contractors only killed 40% of the badgers they saw is stupid. The truth is that 39% of the original target was culled. The original target was set by NE based on an extrapolation of the estimated population. At no time was this anything like the lamping that most people do.... Try going out and having 40 or 50 sabs running across a field towards you whistling and shouting, that's if you can get to your plot of land without being followed/blocked in or worse. It's easy to sit back and speculate about how easy it would be to do on a plot of land that you lamp in relative peace and quiet. Try doing it in a publicly known cull zone with anything up to 500 hunt sabs kicking around..... and when you've thought about that, consider the fact that you have to work within a set of guidelines and any deviation from them could result in the loss of you firearms ticket.... Don't believe everything you read in the press; in reality, most areas had a high percentage cull rate, and the antis had a massive effect.

You should've shot one in the leg low down so it looked like you were shooting a badger they came out of nowhere silent blah blah Or at least played them at their own game and fired a few roman candles their way Edited December 3, 2013 by mushroom

ATB Cookie There was very little 'non-badger' night work done in the zones. It would be a very brave lamper that ventured out with white light in the zones with so many antis and police in the area. The key fact is that it wasn't 39% of the badgers killed; it was 39% of the target number of badgers. All the night work was done using night vision rather than white light; the only white light was provided by the antis, along with rape alarms, vezulas, whistles and fireworks. kranky 507
I can tell you the antis did make a huge impact on shooting! dressing up as police? setting dogs on shooters? stabbing tyres on the 4x4s? blocking shooters in at there homes? trying to open trucks to grab fire arms? spitting at shooters? running around fields with lights letting fireworks off? it was nearly imposible, so please lads dont knock the lads who took the time to help the cull because they did more than enough considering what they were up against. as far as the trapping is concerned traps were cut in half smashed and stolen. I hope this ansures some of the coments from above. The cull was a success nobody was killed or shot so it will open the door to future culls im sure. Has anything happened with regards to the antis who dressed as police? That's a serious offence, you will go to prison for that. What about those that set dogs onto shooters? It must've been a fecking nightmare. I hate antis. So much so, that I punched an old lady in the head yesterday as she bought free range eggs in Sainsburys.
