dogs-n-natives 1,182
Yes, with great results. But Im thinking mine broke the mold somewhat. I did use my cocker to produce some excellent fox bushers, one litter were russel/pat x cocker, the other terrier/beagle x cocker, all worked fox relentlessly. Most pure spaniels are naturally very close workers, ie, they dont follow the line very far at all. (mine would push them out of cover, and kill them easy if wounded etc) The added hound or terrier blood will give the spaniel more range, following the line keenly, and with the bonus of voice, giving tounge on a hot scent is a huge asset that pure spaniels dont possess.
