danw 1,748
2 years back I was driving down the hill towards the estate its pretty steep with a bad corner half way down, I'm in the landy doing about 25 when a middle age wiggins wanabe flys past he gets to the corner too fast, straight across the road and burys him self in the front of a transit he didn't feel a thing but the poor young girl driving the van was distraught we are a way out so it took about 15 mins for the police and ambulance to arrive she just kept saying "it wasn't my fault" well damned right it wasn't, it was the prick in the lycra that has given you nightmares for the next 6 months mindst I bet when he set out that day he didnt' expect to be a pile of snot at the side the road covered in empty feed bags to spare the girl the sight 1 Quote Link to post

danw 1,748
Not so long back the farm manager rings and says their's some one lamping the top the estate I jump in the landy and set off up the farm track through the estate, to get to where he described means driving up a steep hill so lights off and away we go about half way up I'm giving it the beans when a light comes towards me at speed turned out it was about 10 mountain bikers down hilling in the dark there was a fair bit of screaming when I flicked the lights on and they realised the truck was there 2 Quote Link to post

It's bad enough trying to get past a slow bike but trying to get past one that has a transit van in tow to make sure he's safe is a f***ing nightmare. If they're too scared to be on the road, get f***ing off it. 1 Quote Link to post

Qbgrey 4,114
i went past a cyclist the other day ,i could nt do the wide overtake cause cars kept coming ,so i slowly go past and the wiggins wankers shaking his fist a me,so i pulled up in the next layby, when he got near i opened my door,he nearly went over the bars the rude prat.i think the roads are too busy, the vehicles wider, heavier, etc to safely let these riders on main roads. also they never pull over even a massive line of cars behind, because thier timing them selves.also they should be made to have road bike insurance. 1 Quote Link to post
forest of dean redneck 11,679
I'm sure the highway code states they should be in single file, but they always 2 or 3 abreast. By the way did I mention I bought a bike yesterday ,lol don't panic it's a mountain bike Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
I am sure the Highway Code states that a bicycle is allowed as much road room as a car ........... Quote Link to post
paulus 26
I am sure the Highway Code states that a bicycle is allowed as much road room as a car ........... i can remember the arrival briefing in Germany, it went along the lines of, if you knock over a cyclist ensure you reverse back over just to make sure Quote Link to post
baw 4,360
I am sure the Highway Code states that a bicycle is allowed as much road room as a car ........... Aye but to be fair, Harvey's bike takes up as much room as a car when you take into account his stabilizers 2 Quote Link to post
