Tiercel 6,986
You obviously have no expieriece of nets. NOW is the time to learn. I am not trying to be clever, just trying to help you help yourself.Even when ferreting with long nets, you come up against new problems that have to be worked out on the spot. Unless you are willing to learn how to solve the problems you will be missing out on a lot. There is one surefire way to learn, and it,s not someone giving advice. Edited to make it readable. Tiercel 6,986
Right I have use of a pc now. To be successful at netting it pays to be resourceful and try things ( if you don't try and fail you will never learn.) There is a thread pinned in this catigory that tells you one way to add poles to a net, there are other ways but the way it shows works so it would be a good starting point. have a look for the thread I could give you a link but that would defeat the object. Good luck with you new venture into netting. TC 1 Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
cheers mate. ive been ferretting for over 20years but never really got into using long nets. i will have a go at setting up myself and see how i get on. Now, thats how you learn. Try them in different situations, watch how the rabbits hit the net watch what happens next. In the end you will see how rabbits bolt differently depending where the nearest cover is. But most of all enjoy the learning process. TC 2 Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
Flushing with terriers and a long net is great sport, you have to try and second guess where the rabbits are going to bolt from and set the net accordinly, teaches you a bit about rabbit behaviour thats for sure.
