Well,..I love all types of hunting,...and although these days, I only keep a mongrelised type of mouching cur,... (strictly for the rabbits),...I would have to admit,.. for sheer excitement,.a good d

Walking out daytime with a lurcher or lurchers,, and a bushing dog,,, and hunting rabbit hare or deer

That wasn't the question. . . . .   If I had to stop doing everything else and would be left a lone doing one thing. That would be mooching daytime with a little team, hunting any quarry I came acro

For me it would be a choice of a little bit of what i do know or a lot of what i dont :D ......Little bit of tagging along next to a few Lurchers or a lot of studying and learning about Hawking..............with another 20 odd years to play with i think id really take to the ol bop,s :D

Now there ya go, I wouldn't have had you down as a BOP kind of bloke mate, I'd have thought all those hawking days were too much f*****g about.

Don't get me wrong, hawks are my favourite animals, but those hawking days can be like watching paint dry.

Ive thought about it for years.......the ol woman even packed me off on one of them Falconry courses for a birthday present a few years ago :D ........if i had the patience and dedication to do a bird justice id be bang in there.......impressive animals right enough and just about as " countryfied " as it gets for me !

They are certainly impressive animals, I had a day out local to me to watch Peregrines flown over pointers......the bird went up and was like a dot in the sky and it hit the 1 partridge that we killed that day ( they put down 9000 ! Lol) like a steam train.

The rest of the day was spent chasing birds that had f****d off and doing likewise to the pointers!!

As you say, I also wouldn't be able to train a bird.....I can't train a dog never mind a bird !! Lol

My pals dad use to keep buzzards, peregrines, spars and merlins when we were kids......the merlins were hard to keep as they keeled over and died at the slightest shock !!

Not sure id be too confident with anything that small but id fancy my chances training a Harris........just the commitment i suppose im one of these in for a penny in for a pound sort of people so something else in life would have to suffer :D .......any man/animal working partnership i find interesting but a Hawk i would find fascinating.....not like bonding with a dog in the warm in front of the telly is it

How's wee Buster cracking on mate?.....you still happy?

I'd say empty your inbox but il be fecked if I'm writing it all out again on the iPhone, yes mate he's going great, will have to step up to top dog as I lost the old Russell last month.

As I hunt for a living, I'd have to opt for hunting, if not I'd say mcnabing , just so I could do 3 in 1 , lol
