Well,..I love all types of hunting,...and although these days, I only keep a mongrelised type of mouching cur,... (strictly for the rabbits),...I would have to admit,.. for sheer excitement,.a good daytime hunt over rough and wild terrain,..searching for the Roe....realy does take some beating...

 

Ya damned right it does. If ever there was a sport fit for a King it is the pursuit of deer with a sighthound in daylight hours...

 

In an organised formal manor with a bit of etiquette as a show of respect it'd be damn near perfect to me.

There's nowt like a day out in the big forests, and rough land.

 

Have to admit, it's hard to beat good hound work also.

 

Any form of proper daytime 'hunting' will do me, whatever dogs we're using!

if laws wernt a problem.....right up thier for me would be salmon netting be it with stake nets, net and coble or wsimming a sneaky net round a slow pool at night stuff of dreams...

Rough shooting with a shotgun and my spaniel. Nothing better for me although the site and sounds of the foreshore as dawn breaks on a morning flight are like no other you will see or hear..

For me it would be a choice of a little bit of what i do know or a lot of what i dont ......Little bit of tagging along next to a few Lurchers or a lot of studying and learning about Hawking..............with another 20 odd years to play with i think id really take to the ol bop,s

Now there ya go, I wouldn't have had you down as a BOP kind of bloke mate, I'd have thought all those hawking days were too much f*****g about.

Don't get me wrong, hawks are my favourite animals, but those hawking days can be like watching paint dry.

AT the moment rough shooting although I don't have a dog for that. There's too much I haven't tried yet so I couldn't really say but being in good company and seeing the dogs working does it for me as does being out with my mate who never fails to show me some wildlife I've never seen before Half the time we end up more like twitchers with guns
