Dan25 87
Anyone else find with the mk1 collers get caught on the nets a lot it's so annoying find the ferrets tangled all the time or is it inexperience of the ferrets Quote Link to post
The one 8,467
The inexperience of the ferrets by the end of this season they should be able to slip threw the nets unless there huge hobs Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,067
Also depends on the size of mesh on the nets,,, and the type a material the nets are made of,,, the heavier and larger the mesh,, the easier it is for a ferret to pass through a mesh,,, again depending on the size of ferret Quote Link to post
darbo 4,774
The buckles sometimes gets snagged on the net put some electrical tape around the buckle. Quote Link to post

Mole man Kent 26
On the subject of collars gents, anyone got the new mk3 collar? It has magnetic on and off mechanism. I was out a couple weeks ago tried locating one of my pugs and nothing was reading and finally me pug showed. Turned my locator on and the collar was switched off, even though I 100% turned if on. Wonder if there was a magnet under ground that the collar brushed passed and turnt off? What you think? Quote Link to post

Mole man Kent 26
Only happened the once. Trust that to happen to me Quote Link to post
iana 25
Try wrapping insulation tape round the battery. It smooths out any sharp edges and keeps your battery dry. Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
I don't think the ferret found a magnet underground. More likely you turned the collar on and off in one motion. Ive done it a few times if it doesn't come on first go. you tend to go a bit mad with the box and it turns it on and off. I turn them on at home then check them before entering. 2 Quote Link to post
northern lad 2,292
Same as Bob...allways happens when somethings at home too Quote Link to post
bugg 84
on the subject of mk3m's does anyone else get rediculous interfence from a mobile phone and it would seem the wifi when im at home too? Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
Yeah bugg. They`re quite bad for interference. underground power lines, pylons, phones, electric fences, and testing in the house will all have varying affect. Ive had interference in "made up ground" too, an old tip/land fill site, right pain in the arse. At least you can leave the phone in the van.. Edited to say, well my first one was, bought new too. My newer one doesn't seem as bad. Quote Link to post
bullx100% 681
I was under the inpression that the mk3 was desighned so to not pick up interfearance....I thought that's why people put up with the fecking racket they make lol.I only had one but got rid due to the constant beepeing driving me mad but recently have been thinking off getting another one as there ment to not pick up interfearnce....gess that's not the case tho so won't waste the money Quote Link to post
Mole man Kent 26
I always put electrical tape on mate. I check mine at home night before Pugging and on the morning when I'm collaring them up and I keep the magnet in my bag away from the collar. Very strange. Still wish my mk1 never broke!
