Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Each to their own i guess but looking back i wouldnt change a second of it .House now paid for and kids grown up .Wife an absolute diamond and never minds me out ,never has .The thought of being on the dole as a career though has got to be the domain of wasters and thieves wondering where the next penny is coming from .Not my idea of a life .Worked hard for 30 years ,own a building firm and lucky enough to have excellent health [touch wood] so now its me time . Times are hard admittedly but theres always work if you want it 3 Quote Link to post

terryd 8,650
as you get older and the kids are independant "ish" then priorities change, i no longer chase money. as quality of life has become far more important than trying to keep up with the jones`s, as long as the basics are covered then feck the rest, your only here once so enjoy it while you can, as the saying goes "You're a long time dead" Very true no good having bulging bank balance and dropping dead. Just pay the bills and do what ever you enjoy Quote Link to post
