Just let me tell you this lady was never once on fen with us and 99% of half x saluki have enough wind for big land and that's including my half x boo boo

Lady did have a bit more wind then him but she was not as fast or as good as strike but she had her good points very tight good round cover could stay with one just

Lacked on wind a bit first race 9 times out of ten she kill but if hard race she would not

Be as good on next one Lou

So lady had more wind than a half saluki but she did not have the wind for big land but 99% of half salukis have enough wind for big land .So ted would have same wind as her alot faster and no comparing the strike he dont miss that often if he gets the chance. Was lue not a great killer and did she not kill alot of english hares was that all on small land aswell did she not go to a fen either .:thumbs: What about the clips any chance of getting some up :hmm:
i ment 99% of half x not have enough wind for the big land

Lou was a great killer very fast sharp good strike killed loads of hares never seen a hare last more then a min early on but as the season went on she had bad feet and a lot of the permission we ran on was full of stone looking back now I would never of run my dogs on that land but I was only young land but some of that land we ran on you could not pay today to go on it with my dogs and in end she ended up pulling up but the way she ran most dogs would also jack on that land on it week in week out

How much wind is need???mins???? For the fen

you half find the right balance ice depends what land you run on were you have more wind you will have less speed in most cases all depends what land you run but there as been races on film 9 min long on fen but maybe a sharper dog could of done the job a lot quicker

So if yea get all the stay yea dont have the speed and half saluki is not enough stay so yea need over half .As i have said on here any dog will jack pull up or what ever yea call it if its injured ran out of ran on bad land every week .So in ireland if yea dont have a dog that can take a bang of a gate or a tear of wire or a rub of a stone wall every now and then yer wasting yer time horses for courses one mans poison is another mans soup

It's not often you see a good dog run 1 for more then 4 min should have the job done bye most be killed with in 2 min and that's along time if you stop watch it

But with 100yards start that a different story it could take a min to stop him at the right time of year and some of the slower ones might not stop him at all :yes:
