gonetoearth 5,144
Do I look for burrows I've saw a few that are to big to be mice just wondering if the dog shows interest do I go about digging , may sound stupid but I've only ever worked my dog lifting bales and farm rubbish ect. Rats like to run the same runs, Holes they are using will be well used they will near the factory any ditch close or along any wall. As they drag their tails behind them the soil gets smooth , What crops have been in the fields behind the factoty , but the smell and draw of the meat will be irresistible to mr rat look for holes let your terrier work the boundry of the factory if they have ratted before they will mark , get your self a. Smoker have fun. Oh and make sure the factory has not put any poison down before you let your terrier off the lead MAKE. SURE YOU CHECK THIS OUT FIRST Edited November 30, 2013 by gonetoearth 1 Quote Link to post

gonetoearth 5,144
Cheers so let him find interest rather than try and find it for him? if he has killed bolting rats he will mark. Get a s smoker. If you aint dug before you will prob lose the tube. You will soon pick it up though Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
Not always true . Had a bitch that would gladly kill bolting rats but wasn't good at marking rats to ground, she would find them in buildings. Not a fan of smokers does f**k all for a good marking dog, seen the smoker kill more rats underground then bolters. Quote Link to post
