bbjaccov5 4
Never had any luck using a decoy owl, feckers didn't even look at it Try a fox... We use a stuffed fox. It works great! We had crows coming in to 10 yards just hanging above the fox. Another great advantage is that when they see the fox they won't look that much at their surrounding. Gr Jacco Quote Link to post
goldfinger 135
Had a good couple of hours on crows Sunday, kept it simple used natural cover to hide behind a low fern branch up against a fence, put one crow decoy out with opened up pigeon and a magpie decoy about 5ydrs off left all shot birds out on ground were they fell, it sent the blacks wild they just flew around quite often close to ground squawking there heads off,3/4 choke used odds and sods lead carts I had left over took em out easy.I changed to steel shot after running out of lead so had to open up to 1/4 then the situation changed birds not dropping pattern was to open so packed up called it a day 28 total and a few lost in woods,so lesson learned next time 3/4 at least and plenty of cheep lead. 1 Quote Link to post
Windage!! 6
In the summer I'm up as early as i can to set the decoys up then have a kip in the hyde if needed. I use about 30 full bodied crows, i find the more decoys the better. Quote Link to post
