Double Trouble!

Ayup lads and lasses!

Got to the tree to check zero, as I haven't used the hw100kt for a while and saw 2 easy woodys that I could have got, (19 yards away!) if I knew for a fact the rifle was zeroed, which I didn't so I left them to it

sat down got comfy and waited a few mins for my heart/ pulse rate to settle so I could zero perfectly, there was zero wind at this time so I wanted to be 100% sure it was accurate results.

I took the first shot and it smacked the 28 yard target a bit to the right, nearly bang on.. Then 2 squirrels appeared out of nowhere! one ran away and one ran towards me and stopped 20 yards away. within 10-15 seconds of the first shot to check zero this squirrel was on its way to the floor with a jsb exact 15.89 ripping straight through its head, entering just under the ear :toast:

Checked at 34 yards aswell and the holdover I calculated last time was still spot on, even though its a lot colder today (5 degrees) than it was last time I 'calibrated' Das Gewehr

Then went for a quick mooch after hearing some undergrowth rattling about, which lead me to 2 more squirrels.. Got comfy rested on a broken down fence and waited for the one that was 33 yards away to pop its head out..

During the wait I was watching a lovely woodpecker going about his day, when the squirrel climbed slightly and sat 'squirrel style' in the V of the top of the trees trunk.

From where I was I could not get a headshot as there was a branch sticking straight up, after a toss up in my mind the decision to shuffle over a bit and try for a headshot, outweighed the heart and lung shot

So a quick shuffle in the loud leaves under my knees.. and.. the squirrel must have been deaf as it didn't run away! so 3/4 mildot placed on the brain area, and down he goes :D Mr Woodpecker not even bothered about the slight noise from the rifle, or the squirrel crashing onto the floor

After this the day passed without much event, I was chilling in the hide waiting for something to eat my peanut butter, but after about 45 mins nothing showed up and I got bored, so I had a plink!! Just cant help myself :icon_redface: Knew I should have too the springer, or the pump so I could have stayed longer!

I won't bore you with the exact story of the mini plink I had, basically there was an on-off wind that I was taking my shots in between, but it caught me out a couple of times :tongue2:

Das Gewehr performed flawlessly, I let it down with my wobbliness lol :icon_redface:

Pics coming soon. 1 Shot SKoT :victory:
