Got up this morning to the sound of my phone text message 6.15pick me up dad if you fancy a dig ,I rolled over looked at the wife snoring and for just a second I thought about staying where I was ,but it pasted, and I jumped up popped the kettle on for a quick cuppa then off in the car 30 mile round trip to pick the lad up with his lurcher bitch moll his bull wheaten greyhound some bitch a round a dig.anyway as we were on are way to some setts and bails on are permission we got a call from are nephew to tag along with his little black patterdale bitch breed down from my old bitch pepper ,rif is a good bitch for fox and works very well in the bails .we got to the farm tired several setts no joy, then we walked up to some waste land an old tip. terriers showed a keen interest in some old scrap junk then out came a dog fox from under some tin sheets he was shoot and retrieved by moll my son noticed the teeth on the old worrier were ground flat and about rotten but he was in great shape we buried the old boy and moved on , talking and walking we came up to a sett in the side of dyke dogs scented up so we allowed rif in and sat back , after 20 mins we turned on the b+f to find her at 1meter about 5 meters into the field so we set on to dig to the bitch after no longer than 15 mins we broke throw right on top of them both ,but straight away lad noticed something a miss with the dog I reached down and draw her out the bitch was dead I give mouth to nose but she was gone,by this time the fox had moved on so we allowed my choc dog to enter we dug and shot fox .but we would of rather only got one today and kept the dog are well died doing what it loved I hope I do r I p rif the dog didn't have a mark on it and it aw sent over tight we think the had a heart attack ???? Get lad to put photos up later
