tjones3862 3,423 Posted November 29, 2013 Report Share Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) add a run out today, up bye the scarborogh, area,,, we went blind not knowing whats what,,,did not start till 9,,,after finding some permission,,,the wind was crazy at times,, nets blowing off holes,,,at times ,, but small stone sorted it,,,,for saying the wind was bad,,, they bolted well, last week the wins zero,,and they wud not bolt,,,thats rabbits for you,,,,,we done better than we thought ... the dogs bailed us out at times' catching 7,,,,it was not a long day' Friday traffic,,,so we hit the road come 2,30,,,, ending the day on a 50,,,,ready for a bit of lamping ,, Edited November 29, 2013 by tjones3862 8 Quote Link to post

tjones3862 3,423 Posted November 30, 2013 Author Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) me dogs will ferret has good has any other dog, when walking the dog hes allways got his head in a hole ribs pumping out, letting me no some,thinks at home, ern just loves to sit and watch the country side go bye when I have min up the fields takeing it all in,, most the times I don't take them,,,99percent of the time my permission, will not let me take them,lol has this was a place mick was told about,, mick pushed his look takeing 3 dogs yesterday,,,the farmer must of said a 100 times ive sheep in them fields, just bin tupt, I fort he was going to turn us away, mick cud have loads more permission iff he never took dogs,, but mick don't lanp or day walk, so he likes his dogs out ferreting,,, iff I was to take me dogs everywere, this was when i was a naughty boy some years back lol,, I wud of add trouble every time a 4 wheel drive went past, but when theres no dog, you can get a wave or a pap, from them,,,,,,,hard abits are hard to break,,,, but ive lernt my lesson, and I try and get permission,, Edited November 30, 2013 by tjones3862 2 Quote Link to post

Nothing I love more than taking the dogs ferreting but you can get away with a lot more without them. I often nip out with a few nets and 1 Jill in my pocket and I can go ANYWHERE to get a couple of bunnys and never get any hassle. As you say, people will wave as they go past you. Some if our permissions don't like lurchers but that's part reason I keep little dogs aswell. Marking up and helping put bunnys to ground and pushing them into long nets. Ferreting is like everything else there's a time and place to get job done quickly and bag up but it's also nice to kick back watch the animals graft and ferret at a lesurely pace enjoying the day and land around you.. Next time you up this way give me a shout Jim, even if just for a quick brew and chat about mongrels.. Quote Link to post
