This year I used this system for the first time.

The gos was tethered on this for part of the day, along with using a swing perch as well, I got to say it's the best combination I've used for a goshawk so far, with next to no baiting......& I will definitely use this with all future birds.post-89484-0-16899500-1385727974_thumb.jpg

They are good systems for hawks, but there is a drawback and that is the bird is not enclosed and could be attacked by passing buzzards, cats, foxes etc.

Derry lost a male goshawk to what was believed to be a fox.

Yep there are always risks, I got a 50m electric fence after these pic were taken, I have fox, cats & pine martins coming here & also buzzards, this was used when I was at home, which was a lot at the time........

I found this just down the road from here..... Days later I got the fence....post-89484-0-48970000-1385758245_thumb.jpg

depending on if you lived on a farm or had a realy good size back yard you could use something like harris fencing(stuff what they put round building sites) to surround /enclose the set up then put nylon netting on the top......
