Hw100 Losing Pressure

Recommended Posts

I have just bought a second hand Weihrauch hw100 and when I filled it with air to 190 bar it started losing pressure, losing it all overnight. I took of the air cylinder and filled it this morning and the cylinder has not lost any pressure. Could it be the small O ring at the back and if so how do I replace it? I believe I have a spare o ring as there where some in the box. Thank you for any advise.

Remove the stock.

Slide off the barrel and cylinder clamp.

Unscrew the cylinder.

The o ring is located on the brass valve just inside the block.

Take care when poking about in there.

Replace the o ring and lightly grease with molykote.

If you fast fill your cylinder and it gets warm. It will show more pressure. When it cools the guage will drop.

Thanks Moxy, Is there anything else I can use instead of Molykote or is it easly available and where would I get it? I must admit I am a bit nervous dismantling the Rifle. I have this picture of a load of bits on the bench and no idea how to put them back together again! Would it be better to take it to a gunsmith and have all the o rings replaced or is this very expensive? I think that Cheshire gunroom might do this, mcavuys in Wigan or Skipton guns are also possible. As you can see I live in Lancashire. Once again thanks for your advice.

Skipton gun room will do an overhaul but I'm not sure on cost.

If you have the cylinder probe o ring then it's quiet an easy job. 2 stock serews with Allen key heads and the cylinder just twists off and self purges.

Put everything back in order it came off.

Most gun shops will sell molykote.

Thanks people. I am going past Mcavoy's tomorrow so I phoned and I spoke to anna, (I think she is the owner's Daughter) and will take the rifle with me, just to be sure that I do have the correct O ring. Moxy, you are a star! If I do have the correct O ring I will have a go on changing it. and will buy some molykote. Thanks once again.
