beast 1,884
just been on the phone to a mate of mine. there is a small herd of sika on his permission, he normally only shoots a few each year but spends a lot of time just observing them. well, there was a hind sitting up in the forestry for a couple of days not coming out to feed with the others, obviously something wrong so he made a real effort to get a good look and eventually he got close enough to see that she was giving birth! as it happened she didn't pass the fawn successfully as one of the forelegs was folded back wrong and he ended up having to intervene with the rifle. got me to wondering if any of you blokes have come across ridiculously late fawns like this? found the odd fallow a month or so later than the majority, but end of november seems way out Quote Link to post
