Dan McDonough 560
Sorry Bluecollar, if I would have had any idea of where this dog actually was/from I would not have. Great looking dog though. I sure hope I don't have the same luck in the tracking department with my lurchers. Their stag mother runs a hot track surprisingly well so I hope they will be tempered enough to stay with it. I'm relying a lot on the endurance of the boarder collie to make the difference. If mine look half as good as yours I'll be tickled. Thanks for sharing the whole story on your dog. Quote Link to post
bluecollar 104
Its not the tracking we had a problem with. we used Walkers, lurchers just there to push hard after the jump. problem was we never got more bobs with the lurchers. they tree well and track and tree coon and such but they can't course in deep snow. A good med sized Walker with long legs is the best for bobs. Quote Link to post
Dan McDonough 560
Were any of those dogs over 24"? Quote Link to post
bluecollar 104
All are over 24"tts Quote Link to post
bluecollar 104
Dan where did you get the picture and the false information. was it from the Big Game Houndsmen site? who made the original post? Quote Link to post
Dan McDonough 560
I don't remember the guys name. The picture and original part of the post is gone on BGH last time I looked. I'm glad it's gone at the least, if you didn't want it there in the first place. You'll have to check the rest of that post for clues. Quote Link to post
Dan McDonough 560
It seems to me like the original idea of the post was to get people thinking but he should have run it by you before using your dogs picture. Quote Link to post
bluecollar 104
Seems like a man named Pittman posted it as a dog he knew or owned. I lived in Oregon for a long time and ran with houndsmen but only had a couple my self I always hunt terrier and lurchers. Quote Link to post
bluecollar 104
I do not know the man. it was all bs. Quote Link to post
bluecollar 104
If you cross a good lurcher to a tall good hound you have what I think you are looking for. Quote Link to post
