The rebuilding process begins for David Price on December 14, as he makes his debut under new promoters Sauerland Event, with new trainer Adam Booth in his corner. Price (15-2, 13KOs) will meet Evgeny Orlov (14-12-1, 10KOs) in Neubrandenburg, Germany. Price, still the British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion, is attempting to bounce back from 2 stoppage losses to former world title challenger Tony Thompson (38-4, 26KOs) in February and July this year. Price had blitzed through the domestic scene, knocking out the likes of John McDermott, Sam Sexton, Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton in double quick time, before coming unstuck when meeting the wily veteran Thompson.

Now, Price has linked up with trainer Adam Booth, and signed with promoters Team Sauerland after his previous promoter, Frank Maloney, retired from the sport after over 30 years in it. Sauerland aim to give Price more rounds as he has not fought many rounds in his career, and give him experience of fighting all around the world, in order to slowly develop and groom him in preparation for a planned assault at the heavyweight world titles.

‘‘I am excited to be starting this new chapter in my career,’’ said Price. ‘‘My training with Adam (Booth) has been going really well. We have made some changes in the gym and been working on a few different things for this fight. Come fight night people will see these changes in my performance.''

‘‘My opponent Orlov is a tough guy so I am not taking anything for granted but I have seen him in training camps and watched him fight so I know what I need to do to beat him. I can’t wait to get back in the ring and get the ball rolling.’’

‘‘This is the first-step back for David,’’ said promoter Kalle Sauerland. ‘‘It will be a solid test and a great learning experience for him. There is no doubt that David has the potential to become a world champion but we must take things slowly to allow him to develop and grow as a fighter.’’
