Foxhole 22
i have always reared my ownkits but sold on any other kits, but a guy local to me i sold 2 too does not want them anymore and as he can't get a buyer said did i want them back. This is a new area for me other peoples handled kits? I could and probably will just go and handle them but before i do i thought i might ask some of you this. I know they have been handled fairly well and so should be not so nippy but would they behave differently to me. Everybody has their unique smell i know but even as long as the ferrets have been handled by humans should their reactions be the same. The point is i do not want to go and handle them find they bite and walk away i would rather just say no.being that they are my own born kits . One thing i do know as i know his sister is that they have been handled . Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
If they`ve been handled well then you shouldn't have a problem, especially when they get to know you. Ive had my hands down holes to other peoples ferrets, bricking it, but have been assured I`d be fine, and, what do you know... I was. Mine have fecking bit me though.. Quote Link to post
The one 8,507
If they where your kits in the first place and you did the hard work and they didn't bite and latch on when they left you they should be fine , Even if they are a little bit nippy once there out grafting i reckon that will settle them down and burn up there energy Quote Link to post
foxtails 272
you should be ok mate i rescued a ferret from a pet shop 3 weeks ago as it had never been handled was in a cage alone for 3 months and coverd in flea's, more than iv ever seen, the woman wanted £20 for him i gave her a fiva (she should count her self lucky she got that) anyway i handled him alot every day for a week and the ammount of bites he gave me christ, my index finder is still numb to this day, well im just starting to get pins and needles in it but pain full ones still, i couldnt leave him there, iv had enough years with ferrets to know that it wasnt his fault when he kept biting me as he wasnt handled and never knew any different,so never flicked his nose or anything like that,he's off with someone else now, but tleast hes out of that shop ! back to your question though, yep aslong as theyv been handled they'l be fine with you, ATB mate FTS Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
All ferrets are different, none of my three bite me but one will bite other people, but if those other people didnt dismiss her so quickly and put in a little time she wouldnt bite them either. 1 Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
When you go to collect them, let him put them in your box, you will soon see if they want to grab on. If okay I would put them in your hutch, give them a feed, then handle, they should be fine. Quote Link to post
