ryanod90 17
I am just wondering what do people do when they want a sling on there tx200. do they go with out the sling to not put a hole in the wood ? Just as its a heavy gun what do people do. ? I know its a big novice question but cant hide what i am so please go easy on me Even show pics please. Ryan Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
I heard the tx200 is a bit hit and miss with slings fitted? Usually you get a clamp that goes around the underlever and drill the stock to fit the rear one.. as shown here.. But on the tx200 apparently the rifles own weight will open the underlever catch thingy if the rifle is cocked and you try put it onto your shoulder. As it is just a ball holding it shut? Unlike the more reliable hw77 / 97 that has a more secure underlever that uses a button to open it Quote Link to post

Mike Ketteringham 1
Put the clamp on the under lever as near to the stock as possible. Quote Link to post
Tim_B 2
You could always use a one point sling (or whatever they are called) , that way you would only need to drill the stock Cheers Tim Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
The problem with slings on TX200 rifles and HC carbines is that the ball detent, that locks the underlever to the barrel is not very strong against holding the weight of the rifle on a sling pulling against it. There is a tendancy for the sling to pull the underlever open under the weight of the rifle on it, when carrying the rifle slung over your shoulder. The Weihrauch lock-up on their underlever HW77s and HW95Ks is far more secure and better for fitting slings. For all that though, the sling-swivel fitting means drilling a hole into the base of the Butt-stock and the other over the underlever as per normal. Simon 1 Quote Link to post
