Best Way To Ferret Alone

I always ferret with friends but on sat went out aloe to have a go at a hedge row. It was a bloody nightmare they bolted on the wrong side of the hedge, I was jumping about all over the show. I was using purse nets and a 25yrd long net.

 

 

Any advice on making life easier or organising the morning much appreciated.

If your on your own they seem to know and always bolt on the other side of the hedge , maybe try sticking the longnet threw the hedge and catch them as they run up or down the hedge

I usually stand one side and the dog the other, can't beat ferreting alone I have done it for years.

Til runs rather than holes a donk board is helpful to get them out into the field for the dog or longnet,

A good size hedge is a pain on your own. You can't always pick and choose but I like the easier spots on my jack 4. Or 5 rabbits happy days . Went one day had 32 lol a quite stroll I never sat down 14 out of a nice easy field warren 9 out in one go while I was rolling a fag . Missed just the one had the long net out . Plenty of bagging is the way , held them nice .
