Best Ferreting Shovel

Hiya guys, I need a new shovel and just wondering what you lot think is the best shovel for the money. I am not really fused if its folding or not.

Bulldog spade mate wouldn't bother with a folding spade will eventually break.alb rich

cheers rich. Do any of you feel there is a great difference between a pointed spade or flat?

There not too heavy at all. I just strap mine onto my back pack. They are pointed tipped and that's what I prefer to use, especially in a hard frost.

That's great mate cheers. I don't mind carrying something that could potentially save me the loss of one of my best little ferrets. I have found bulldog rabbiting spade on ebay for the £35 like you said mate so that will be ordered asap. Thanks a lot to both of you.

I use a small round mouth bulldog which is light and just chuck over my shoulder

Pointed best for me also,and like Jarvis I carry mine on my back but use a sling.atb rich

The one I am looking at is 28" long. Did you guys think this might be to long and more suited to a garden or does it not make much difference?

No one shovel suits ever condition its good to have a selection from a draining shovel to rabbiter to plain shovel

 

Then on sandy shovel a good round mouth also a valueable tool I used is the post hole digger

 

 

Go to car boots and build up your shovel collection

Cheers mate, I never though of the car boot sales. I will go this sunday and see if there is any that I can pick up.
