Silent Dog On A Run

whos dogs silent on a run or does it give a yelp/whine or what ever, every now and then

we bitch im running now is completly silent, had we bitch couple year ago always yalped on her first run then rest of the day was silent

Had a whippet that opened up alot whilst in pursuit of game. At the mo im bringing on a pup whos let out the odd yip on a chase or two but that should be down to youth hopefully lol

It's always been a cardinal sin for a dog to open up. I'll never have any whippet blood in any dog I own again.

 

I think times have changed though and people who've only been in the sport a short while find it acceptable. On certain ground a yapping dog can ruin a night.

My old dog yapped once or twice as a pup but as he he grew older and his catch rate picked up he never made a sound since. As I say my pup is young so she should grow out of it. The whiopet I owned that yapped I gave back to were he come from. Yappin bein 1 reason but jus not makin the grade I wanted.

I like to,take all my dogs to the vets at 3 months old and get their voice box surgically removed ... No danger of a yapper then ... ......
