Plummerterrier 291
As title says thinking of selling my air rifles after Xmas and applying for my fac ticket been looking at a mag tech 7022 was wondering if this is any good to start with Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
Start the application before you sell your air rifles. It can be a long process in some force areas. Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Forget the magtech Just buy a CZ 452 and fit the rimfire magic trigger kit Best Rimmy you will ever own. full stop. And don`t be tempted with FAC air either,, waste of time. 2 Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
What's wrong with FAC air Rake ??? Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
It`s a waste of time, I perceviered but gave up with it. Sub 12 does 90% of what you need, rimmy does a better job of the other 10% plus does a hundred other jobs that FAC air wont Oh, and FAC air rifles aren`t worth shitpence on the market and are a proper nightmare to get rid off. Not worth the hassle. Just my opinion, and experience. 1 Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
£150 brand new and usable straight out of the box, what's not to like? Remember this is a Mossberg 702 which under that name cost £100+ more. Quote Link to post

Nothing lets them down if you need one. You are talking the wrong language, you have to access your requirements, if that is a FAC Air rifle then they are superb, if it isn't you don't need one! Yep, money wise they tend to be expensive to buy new, and don't hold their value well, so that's a Bonus, just buy a used one. I run 12ft lb, FAC Air, 2 x 22lr, HMR, WMR, a selection of centrefires and several shotguns....I need them all, not everyone does! Edited November 24, 2013 by Deker Quote Link to post
slipper 116
What reason did you put on the variation for wmr deker? When you already had hmr? Or vice versa, I fancy a wmr but already have hmr on ticket, fao will ask why I want one when already have hmr, just curious Quote Link to post

Or vice versa, I fancy a wmr but already have hmr on ticket, fao will ask why I want one when already have hmr, just curious I don't remember as it was a long while back, but its main use is Canada Geese and Fox so I guess that probably had something to do with it, I have never really seen the WMR as a rabbit gun, although it has certainly dealt with plenty, I can't remember the last time I took it out specifically after rabbit. HMR was no doubt longer range rabbit (over and above the .22lr). I also use my guns for a living so that may have some bearing on my requirements. ALL my rimfires have been conditioned for Fox as long back as I can remember, even the .22lr, but for the past 4-5 years ALL my rifles are AOLQ. Quote Link to post

That are at a further distance ?? Were it would be reckless/dangerous to use Lr ?? FAC Air can go anywhere opposed to 22lr needs signed off for each bit of land ?? What do you use your FAC air for Deker ?? What model and FTlb is it ?? Quote Link to post

Not a lot, but odd jobs crop up, birds usually, pigeons in underground car parks, warehouses, factories, offices, supermarkets, barns, etc., squirrels sometimes, not often the need for it on rabbits as I use the other tools, but if you don't have other tools it will definitely give you the edge over 12ft lb on bunnies. .22 Falcon FN19 Skeleton, 26ft lb. This has been up a few times but I haven't ever had a bigger tally! Edited November 25, 2013 by Deker 1 Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
Bloody hell Deker that's some shooting! I counted around 90? Where the heck did you shoot that lot? It was a few years back now at a Council owned Nature Park. Around 172 removed in total and 91/92 in the picture I seem to recall. The picture has been all over the world and featured in many magazines! The park was overrun and they were decimating everything, so numbers had to be reduced, anyone could have done it in the circumstances, just happened to be me that got the job! Back to the topic.............. ................... the Magtech 7022 is a cracking bit of kit for what it is! Quote Link to post
