Recommended Posts

just do it for free it will PAY off in the end mate as you will get recommended to ferret other land and to me that's payment eno

True that, already earnt myself some nice new ground this season  happy times.

Was asked to do a large garden, paid, didn't want to turn down the money... obviously. It would go back into the ferreting at the end of the day.

In this neck of the woods the rabbits just aren't in numbers that a farmer would put his hand in his pocket. Saying that as a kid a market gardener used to pick me and my cousin up take us to his farm pay us a pound a rabbit and let us keep the rabbits. Make us tea and sandwiches and drop us back home oh they were the days

If you take on paid rabbit catching it changes the game plan as your need to have a very good clear rate EG alot of hobby ferreting means not doing dangerous areas or diffcult areas and quite often your need a couple of methods snares dogs or lamping long netting shooting etc etc .

On average its not worth the hassle if the landowner wants to make a token for your effort ask for a crate of your fav beer or chocs

Be better settling for coffee and bacon rolls , you take money for it and its a job no a hobby charging can invalidate your insurance , as said your there to kill ever rabbit half the time your asked to fill in holes and you need enough gear to do the job . Paying jobs sort out those who can walk the walk to those who can talk the talk :laugh::laugh:

Ok, Ill joke about breakfast and see what happens haha.

Private garden £10 for the first rabbit and £2.50 every rabbit after that. Sounds fair enough.

But MAKE SURE you do a professional tidy and above all else, thorough job. If you take cash for a job you have a duty to do it correctly.

Good answer, sounds right. 100% I know how my older jill works and the job will be done, bolts or not.... Her brother will tidy up to be sure

I guess this offer of pay is to make sure the job gets done fully and not just to a hobbyists level ;). Nothing personal against me but they won't want to have me around again  But I guess that depends on their fencing. I can promise to clear the warren
