Got a pup at the minute Juckler, but believe you me, it dont dare go near :D

Her whole chest was covered in them, too many unless one of the bigger dogs had pinned her down for the pup to have good go :boxing:

Thank you though.

My guess is this is if im not mistaken -The bitch is middle aged and was spayed young.Hormone imbalances have a part to play in hair loss which may have been the start of the balding .The vets first take is to throw steroids at it to control it whilst looking into it further .The bodies reaction to steroids shows firstly on the outside ,eg skin which will account for the spots .I bet the spots appeared a while into the steroid course and after the hair loss was mending nicely. My experience with steroids [not personally i might add] is that there is always a bad response somewhere to them in the body ,as well as treating the symptoms it was given for .Far better to look into the initial cause of a problem than masking the cause with steroids Vets are too quick to prescribe these today ,a quick fix to keep the customer happy .I would expect the vet to give hormone tablets as a long term skin cure as i remember you saying you feed raw as a balanced diet .

You sound spot on FD.

The steroids are to get the hair back before we try other things as the skin is now damaged and much more scratching she will end up permanently bald.

I do give a small amount of Eukanuba, started earlier this year, thats the only thing different in her life, so its been stopped, but it can take up to 12wks for her to stop reacting to it?

She has them back today. I now know where she is getting the pussy spots from but not which plant. But its def not nettles. Yesterday i went to my sisters, along the river, through brambles etc. It was the same the day before she got them the last time.

Her roids will be reduced then stopped from Friday, so i should see some improvement, then its blood tests for hormones/thyroid etc.

Would that amount of evening primrose not be poisonous for you Bill :whistling::D

No not yet, she has to be off the steroids for 3wks before the blood tests can start, i think its next week? It may be a long drawn out process.....she is baldy again since stopping them.

I will definately let you know what happens, good luck for your lass
