moxy 617
I'm after fattening a few chucks up for the table. What do you folks recommend as a good "BIG" eating bird. Thanks in advance
moxy 617
So I'm guessing by the overwhelming responses that nobody has an iota and chicken comes from tesco.

moxy 617
Thanks. I'm fortunate that chuck feed prices are not an issue and I will only be bringing on a few birds. For now. We have chicken for Xmas dinner as I can't bide turkey but last years bird from the butcher was a fortune. I can let a mate know what to pick up from the feather auction. Thanks again
gnipper 6,543
I got my mate some cobbs that were big enough to be off heat and we let them eat grain and greens and scratch round the garden and they turned out pretty good compared to the ones that stay in the cabins eating mash. dusk til dawn 169
American whole maize (the yellow bits off corn on the cob ) great fattening feed, be carefull with prices local to me it can range from 15 12 or 8 quid a sack. sounds a bit dear I know, but eight quid a sack aint bad and it don't half but a gut on a bird. With chuck being the outer bird. So it needs to be some size.
