The loss of a working dog has been experianced by a lot of us,but when you loose one as a young lad it feels a lot worse,well done for getting the young lad out and about in the 1st place Ian, hope he can replace his lost pal.

To right Kane, lost a lurcher bitch out lamping down a mine-shaft at about the same age, how I didn't end up down there as well I don't know as the wires came out of my lamp as I was pushing my way into the cover to see what had happened to her . When I got the lamp working again I was at the edge of a shaft, the bitch was swimming around at the bottom of the shaft, by the time I had been to the farm and called the fire-brigade ( they kept me waiting for half an hour for them to say they wouldn't come out at night for a dog) ) and got back with a large bit of wood for her to hold on to but she had drowned. Tell him not to give up

shame to hear that,a young lads dog run into a tree whilst we were out not so long back,we burried it there where it dropped,poor bugger cried his eyes out,and i had a massive lump in my throat,whishing him good luck with the future cos its the young ones that are needed for the future of hunting
