I got all my gear taken 2 year back ripped all my wires off my battery then I went to get it all back from doncaster police station the copper said I had forged the slip and wouldn't give me my gear the tit

Coppers these days have about as much life experience and common sense as a f***ing goldfish so don't expect the majority to know something as simple as the hunting act. Looking for signs of 'dog abuse' on the rabbits...mental

i was once ferreting and had a ferret dug well in under some old rubble. was digging for about an hour, much of this time i was lying flat out with my arm down the hole. two coppers turned up and said they had a report from a member of the public that they had seen a man lying on the floor looking unwell and thoiught i'd had a heart attack!!!!!

Exact words ruby tex . Dog abuse lol and he put gloves on and went through them although i dont think he knew what he was looking for as we caught 13 rabbits and all of them the dog got there first amd held them.in the net

Not many coppers know the Hunting Act but try to use the little knowledge they have (a little knowledge can be dangerous), most of the Wildlife Officers do have a understanding and greater knowledge of it, I have a print off of the Act in the file with my permission slips, I really pissed off a arrogant PC one morning when ferreting on production of this, he thought he had us nicked, always a useful addition to permission is written legal paper, should have seen his face when he read it . haha,

I had it once 2 years ago out ferreting and police shows up saying they had reports of me digging badgers lol. Explianed what I was doing and they left me to it. some people are just more intrested in everybody else business and got nothing better to do.

I had the same thing done to me only thing is we had no terriers no spades no digging gear of any kind we was walking 3 lurchers and a lab I asked the cops does it look like we are diging I just laughed and said you and and the public need to be educated and stop sticking ya noes in he agreed

I only had a 21tts lurcher an 2 ferrets with me. Like you said they need to educate them Zelda before they try and pull you on something.

I know this pip . . The Hunting Act 2004 Despite what many non-rabbiting people may think, the Hunting Act 2004 did not ban the use of dogs for hunting rabbits.

 

 

 

Part 1 (Offences) of the act states: 1 Hunting wild mammals with dogs A person commits an offence if he hunts a wild mammal with a dog, unless his hunting is exempt. 2 Exempt hunting (1) Hunting is exempt if it is within a class specified in Schedule 1. Schedule 1 (Exempt Hunting), section 4 clearly states: The hunting of rabbits is exempt if it takes place on land (a) which belongs to the hunter, or ( which he has been given permission to use for the purpose by the occupier or, in the case of unoccupied land, by a person to whom it belongs.

So why did you lie? You've asked why he asked this and that but why did you lie? You've put this in the lurcher section so I take it it was a lurcher you had so why not say to him the dog was for marking and catching bolting rabbits or escapees from the nets etc? Instead of lying and saying marking only. Then maybe next time he would have a bit more knowledge on the subject and as long as you were doing nothing wrong then all is well.
