gnasher16 30,583
you are the king of contradiction. You say your a lover of football and yet you can't see why I would want to discuss about other countries football. Is this a new rule, you can only talk about your own nations football? Look around gnash, there aren't many Scottish football fans want to discuss football on here. If we were going to the World Cup, we'd be discussing it. Right now we ain't, and talking about England getting humped by Germany is a good talking point no matter how you try to deflect it. So you think England are rubbish......Rooney is the worst player in history.......but being a football lover you want to discuss England..........................................and im the king of contradiction !!! Look, Rooney ain't shite but he isn't all that either. There are far better in the prem, even better in his own team!!! But cos he's English, he gets the usual dross hype. He decided to turn up to a couple of games this season and he's hailed the messiah. He's used to playing second fiddle and I think it suits him. Arguably his best time was when he played along side Ronaldo. When he left, Rooney done heehaw. Now van Persi is taking the pressure off him, Rooney is showing signs of his old self. When it comes to being the no1 striker, he can't do it. So his chances of shinning for England, are slim IMHO.
WILF 48,134
Don't really agree with that Baw, I think he struggles with genetics to keep in shape but fit and on form, on his day he is unplayable. Don't forget, he plays no. 10 NOT no.9 so he plays from a little deeper and contributes other stuff to general play, he has decent passing vision too and his passing is very good. Playing from 10 he will contribute as much running off the ball as with the ball.......a no.10 will do as much without a ball as with it

He is good at all the things you say but I still think he needs a better player beside him to flourish. He isn't good enough to wear the no9 mate but I agree, he puts in a shift and his work rate can't be questioned. I've seen him against my team and he didn't look outstanding to me. WILF 48,134
I think he gets isolated in certain formations......not much he can do about that And I would say he is TOO good to play No.9.......but then again, I used to play at 10 so I am a little biased towards the position ! Lol Edited November 21, 2013 by WILF

Lol you might have a point, he definitely has more in his locker than just scoring goals but they say scoring goals is the hardest thing in football to do. He is a good player wilf, no doubt about it and with today's climate regarding British talent, he's probably the best of a bad bunch. I don't think he's worth the inflated contract he got, I don't think he'd get that now but who knows. I know I'd love for him to be Scottish and play for Celtic but I'd say the same for most of the EPL players Scottish football is a joke mate f***ing heartbreaking admitting it. WILF 48,134
He has 7 million followers on twitter, he will sell god knows how many shirts a year for the club, he will tie up the club closely with Nikey......the club makes hundreds of millions a year.......why should he play for a grand a week?? What our footballers get paid is pocket change compared to the top basketball, baseball and NFL players in the states......these players earn the club a shit load of money over the season so they deserve a slice of that IMHO It's the under performing players that should have the performance on the pitch reflected in their wages not the top players at the top clubs who are producing the goods for the team.....JMHO Edited November 21, 2013 by WILF

You wonder how many chairman look at transfer lists and what they can make from the player rather than there football ability. We got a player called Nakamura, he had a team of journalists around him from Japan I think he was from, all the time. The club was accused of trying to tap into the Asian market. It just so happened the kid could play, scored a peach of a free kick against Man U

Suzy Ross 236
Lol wilf, I don't care what anyone makes in life, you got to make the most you can and if someone's stupid enough to pay it, batter in. But money's ruining it mate. Take this new bt sports CL package, that'll just make the void between the big clubs and the rest even bigger. It's getting silly now. My club earns pittance in there league, Europes where we earn. We earned something like £25 mill last season from Europe. That's £25 mill more than any other c**t in our league, what chance are the rest going to have when the bt money comes into play too. And when it comes to Europe, we are the minnows. Even teams relegated from the EPL will make more money than us with our European run. There will soon be a small group of elite teams and then the rest of us.

Well there you go, from the horses mouth so to speak seeing as you watch them week in, week out mate........nearly a goal a game at that level makes you top of the tree in my book and worth every penny of his pay packet.
