Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
the Hawke sports hd 3-9x50 AO 30/30 arrived today to go on my hw77k, but upon trying to mount it to the 1 piece high mount there isn't enough room for the scopes on the mounts! lovely scope for £53 to go on my plinking rifle the 30/30 will bring back some nice memories of my early shooting days going to have to goto the gunshop and get some high 2 piece mounts before I can go for a plink tomorrow. BLAG!!! 1 Quote Link to post
porkycrook 466
Was this scope brought from e-bay by any chance, if so i was probably bidding on it myself. Wonder how many times this happens, not me and you but one member bidding against another. Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Yeah there not bad scopes for the money. Not as good as the panorama ev i have on the hw100kt but it will do for my 77k. Just got some mounts from wheelers in brighouse so get the scope fitted when i get home might have an hour of daylight left if im lucky to zero in the scope Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
I've got a 30/30 Widescreen 3-9x40 scope from the 80's on my '77 and have to say that once mastered I think they're a lot more intuitive than other scope recticules. I'm pretty pants with it now thanks to Mil dots, Map 6's etc, but I feel I was as good with the 30/30 5 years ago. Be interested to see how you go with it! Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
i remember back in my early days of shooting, the rabbits at the bottom of the banking 3 yards away I had to holdover half way up the thick bottom post of the cross to get them! when I thought 25 yards was, quote, 'miles away' and my bsa supersport was 'a right gun' lol ahh nostalgia. just been to zero in and its bang on using the cross, at a set distance lol, didn't have chance to try other ranges as it got dark, but might be out tomorrow for another plink Quote Link to post
murkey 0
Never had that before where the mount is too big.. All my springers now have 1 piece mounts to help keep the zero, 2 piece is really for PCP in my eyes.. Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
2 piece are fine for springers aswell if they have an arrestor pin. the scope tube doesn't leave much room for mounts/accessories on the hawke sports hd 3-9x50, Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
you could file a bit of the scope rings to make it fit .I always get good quality two piece mounts . Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
think there a hawke 1 piece. had them a couple of years. got some sportsmatch uk 2 piece high on now and its sturdy enough Quote Link to post
